Social Wellbeing
At school, we as teacher' monitor your children's wellbeing; socially.
"Bee" Happy
The activity is called "Bee Happy"; to depict the way in which busy Bee's
all work hard together with one goal. Furthermore students are
encouraged to consider themselves as all belonging to the one 'bee hive'.
The aim is to create a ‘family’ dynamic, so that all students care for one another and feel they need to protect each other as fiercely as family members would. This will bond students and create a positive, happy energy amongst them as learners. Thus decreasing negative differentiation and bullying within the classroom.
To begin ‘"Bee happy" all students’ and teachers names are written on paper and placed inside a box. Each morning students walk into the classroom and blindly pick a name from the box. Once they have picked their name, they then write a message to that student. The aim of the message is to make their fellow peers smile. The personalised messages are placed in students envelopes which live on each student’s desk. This routine makes students smile each morning and allows them to start each day on a positive note.

Justification
The "Bee Happy" resource aims to make each students feel good about themselves. "Compliments are an important part of communications in a relationship. By high-lighting a persons good points, their efforts, their qualities, that person will appreciate the attention and will no doubt continue to try to make an effort in those areas. Good attention is a powerful motivator" (Leigh, S.). Children in particular respond really well to compliments. The most effective way to change someone's negative behaviour is to compliment their positive behaviour. The students will more than likely enjoy this positive attention and strive to achieve further (Leigh, S.).

Bulling Art Activity
The "Bullying Art Activity" is an activity that requires the students create an art piece of their own that is based on bullying. The students are to design an art piece using any type of medium desired to express how a person would feel when being bullied. The students may want to firstly brainstorm as a class the types of feelings and emotions one may feel when being bullied. Once the students have brainstormed and created their art pieces, they are then to present their piece to the class, explaining why they used certain colours and angles and how this helped portray the message they were trying to get across.
Justification
Bullying has increased significantly over time among school aged students. Anti-bullying programs and activities are implemented into classrooms all around Australia to try and reduce these numbers. This particular activity aims to get the students to sympathize with these bullied victims. As they are to create a mood and a strong emotion in their art piece to display to their audience just how horrible and traumatizing bullying can be.

Parents are encouraged to be socially active within the day to day activities of the class; reading groups, maths rotations and more.
However to further develop the social dynamic between learning manager-parent and parent-parent, on the third Friday of every month an urn will be set up in the mornings before school and in the afternoons after school. Come into the classroom and wind down, even just for 10 minutes while enjoying a relaxing tea or coffee. This time allows parents and learning managers to chat and socialize while also providing students to enhance their own social relationships with one another as well.
